LOS ANGELES – The UCLA track and field team ran past BYU and TCU at the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational, Saturday at Drake Stadium. The Bruin men earned wins over the Horned Frogs, 85-55 and the Cougars, 95-66, while the women downed TCU, 115-32 and BYU, 112-46. The meet had numerous highlights but All-American Kylie Price carried the load as she won four events on Saturday. Price opened the meet with a win in the long jump, surpassing the 21-foot mark for the first time on the outdoor season with a mark of 21-1.25. She then ran the second leg of the 4x100m relay that won with a time of 45.00. In the open races, Price scorched the straightaway with an 11.56 in the 100m and closed out her day with a 23.90 in the 200m. Also on the women’s side, Meghan Marvin, in her first career steeple race etched her name as 10th in the UCLA record books with a winning time of 10:57.90. Moving up from 10th to ninth all-time at UCLA was Jaycee Olsen in the hammer throw when she unleashed a personal best mark of 166-7. Read the full article at: www.uclabruins.com
